Dozens of students congregated outside Gate 5 (Omar Mohsen) at 12 noon to voice their concerns regarding the administration’s rejection of their many proposals including the Pass/Fail grading system, commencement, and their demand to lower tuition during the current online learning period.

“We’re standing here today, so that every student’s voice is heard. We’re not asking for something that is not our right. We’re asking for everything that’s within our rights,” said SU President Ahmed Saeed.

The protesting students first marched towards the Omar Mohsen Gate through the parking lot, where they chanted until Vice President of Student Life Deena Boraie made an appearance.

“So students are going through the online learning experience and I fully understand and I feel that a lot of faculty have listened, and the schools have listened, and I hope that we can resolve this by talking and discussing,” she told The Caravan.

The students present on campus made it known that they were frustrated with all the discussions that were already held that didn’t yield any of the desirable results.

“Wake up, student, show your disapproval, we have a million unfulfilled rights,” the students chanted in reference to the tuition as they marched further towards the Watson House.

At press time, the Provost was expected to have met with a small group of students.

Students are hoping that the pass/fail grading option will be back on the table and open to discussion between the students and the university’s administration.
