Since the spread of the COVID-ID 19 virus, I have had 10 jobs, nine of which are unpaid – cooking, cleaning, feeding, changing diapers, baby-sitting … the list goes on.

Balancing my time between work tasks, home chores and spending time with my son has been very challenging, but the day ends so soon anyway.

Ramadan has been quite exhausting to be honest, but now that it is over and it is Eid-al-fitr, I became more relaxed and laid back.

My family and I have decided to spend our Eid on the roof of our house and, like most Egyptians, we have decorated it because that’s more likely where we will spend most of our summer.

I have to admit that working from home is a privilege during current circumstances, nevertheless it is hard for someone like me who is not used to staying at home all the time.

These challenging times have taught us to be grateful for all the things we used to take for granted, the least of which is going shopping.
