The Caravan is a student-run newspaper, whose staff members change every year. To meet the current crew, click here.
The Caravan is part of the AUC community; its primary purpose is to provide a conduit for the community to voice its opinions and concerns. With that in mind, The Caravan is open to the whole community. Anyone with good writing and reporting skills can work at The Caravan. Positions are open to any undergraduate or graduate AUC student, regardless of major. If you are interested in writing, send two unedited writing samples to caravannews@aucegypt.edu and you’ll be contacted for an interview.
The newspaper is financed entirely by student fees, and its budget is set by the President’s Office.
No. The publication cannot carry paid advertising. As a result, we are primarily concerned with news and editorial matters.
The Caravan welcomes letters to the editor and commentary pieces. Submissions must comply with university guidelines and be emailed to caravannews@aucegypt.edu. Max 1,000 words, signed with student name, ID, major, and class. The editorial team reserves the right to edit for clarity, grammar, or space.
The Caravan welcomes corrections for any of the content on our pages. Please e-mail corrections to caravannews@aucegypt.edu by Tuesday at 3 p.m.
If you are interviewed by a Caravan reporter, any info shared may be published. You can request quote verification, but not view the article or notes pre-publication.
