Hi everyone :)) I’m currently a graduating senior majoring in Multimedia Communications and Journalism, with a minor in Business Administration. I have been part of The Caravan since my freshman year, and so it’s definitely the place that fostered my passion for storytelling. When I’m not working on Caravan-related stuff, you will probably find me reading a book, writing short prose or doing art journaling. I’m also always down for a good laugh, a heated Taylor-Swift-drama debate and most importantly, endless Gilmore Girls and Brooklyn 99 binge watching. Did I mention that I’m an over-sharer?

Hiii! I’m a senior majoring in multimedia journalism and communications with a specialization in journalism and a minor in English and comparative literature. I’m expected to graduate this Fall, and hopefully begin to pursue my masters in English Literature. I’m relatively new to The Caravan compared to Amira (the one right above me lol), as I joined last Spring exactly a year ago, but it quickly became an integral part of my life here at AUC. I love to write about urban development and planning, restoration, art, sustainability, and their various intersections with journalism. Whenever I’m not in The Caravan, you’ll probably find me wandering in some garden, basking in the sun while doing my word search or reading a book, while listening to music. I know I’m a very simple person.

I’m Shahd Atef, Co-Deputy Editor-In-Chief of The Caravan. I tend to find it quite fun and often plain sailing to write profiles about people but so painfully difficult to write this introduction for myself. My hobbies include journaling, crocheting, and singing (not too well). I like cats (a lot), Ariana Grande (a lot), my siblings (a lot), and also stationery items (a lot). I like a lot more things, but I just picked out some highlights off of the top of my head. All I’m saying is, I don’t usually enjoy things in moderation…so. Yeah.

Hi I’m Mohammed Alashry. I lead the Arabic team at The Caravan the one always chasing cool stories, fixing weird sentences, and making sure our Arabic pages are on fire (in a good way). If it sounds bold or dramatic … yeah, that’s probably my fault. People say I look serious, but trust me, my real personality is not what you see at first glance. Stick around, you’ll see what I mean. Fun fact: I edit with one hand and send memes with the other. Balance is key ;))

I am Ghada Ramadan, an Arabic teacher for non-native speakers since 2013. This is my work and my passion, which is the Arabic language. I adore the Arabic language and writing in Arabic. I can be more expressive and talkative when I write in Arabic. I am participating in the Caravan as a senior editor to help whoever wants to write and express themselves in Arabic. Also, this makes me achieve an old dream, which is to become a journalist and newspaper writer.

My name is Khaled Magdy. This is my first semester as The Caravan’s Senior Arabic Editor. I am a Finance major, film minor, and full-time journalism enthusiast. I’m passionate about documenting moments, whether through writing or filming. If you hear Radiohead playing in the newsroom, that’s just me getting into my writing zone.

Hi, I’m Menna. I major in IMC and Minor in Business Administration, and no I didn’t join IMC because I couldn’t declare Business, so I’m here to fight this stereotype. I just followed my passion! In a world full of reach-madness and trends obsession, I love creating value content through The Caravan’s Social Media Platforms.

Hi I’m Nour. I’m a junior majoring in Marketing, with a minor in Mass Communication. I joined the Caravan because of its wonderful reputation, and I’m really happy I did. It’s been a fantastic experience where I’m learning a lot while also making a positive impact. Being part of the team is both enjoyable and rewarding.

I’m a senior Integrated Marketing Communications and Film student with a passion for capturing moments both on screen and off. While I love storytelling through a lens, I also make it a point to look up from the screen and soak in the real world. I grew up in a musical household, so music has always been a big part of my life. I’m a hardcore show binger (my friends will vouch for that), and I absolutely love watching films anything from indie gems to timeless classics. Nothing relaxes me more than reading a good book by the beach. I’m also into podcasts perfect for when I need something thought provoking or just a chill listen.

I’m a senior Communication and Media Arts major, graduating next semester. I’m passionate about video and audio production, but I have more experience in audio production. Dance has also been a huge part of my life. I danced ballet at The Cairo Opera House for 7 years and have been dancing hip hop ever since. Performing gives me a rush, even though I struggle with stage anxiety. It’s always a challenge, but it’s something I genuinely love. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 20, which brought a lot of clarity but also came with its own set of challenges.
