Student Senate Appoints Union Cabinet for Upcoming Year

The Student Senate held a meeting on Tuesday to approve the new Student Union (SU) Cabinet and Electoral Commissioner.

More than two-thirds of the Senate voted in former Financial Coordinator Ahmed Radwan as the new Electoral Commissioner for the upcoming term.

From a total of eight applicants, six were appointed as Chairs. Construction Engineering major Rana Khaled is now the Chair of Human Resources and Development.

Omar Assem, an Architectural Engineering major, has been confirmed as the Chair for Academic Representation.

Political Science major Mariam Negm secured the position of Chair of Social Responsibility.

Emilie John, an Integrated Marketing Communication major, is now the Student Life Chair.

Mohamed Gadalla, a Computer Engineering major, is now the Chair of Political Representation whereas Mohamed El-Shalakany, a Mechanical Engineering major, has been appointed as Chair of Empowermental Services.

The Senate, however, will be voting on the newest position on the SU Cabinet, the Executive Coordinator, through e-mail.

Next up on the Senate’s agenda is a vote on the budget of the SU for the Fall semester.
